Sometimes the hardest step to take is the first one. An experienced nutrition coach can help in this transition to create some momentum. Having help in the initial stages of trying to make change can improve confidence in one’s ability to make change as well, giving them more fuel to keep going past the initial weeks of getting started. It is a risk worth taking.
There's not much to be said here. Everyone needs some accountability in their life. Even coaches need coaches. Your trainer probably has a trainer as well. Being able to recognize when you're unable to take your own advice and ask someone else for help puts you miles ahead of everyone else.
There’s so much information that’s out there today, so many claims to try this diet or that diet. But what is right for YOU? What do YOU need to eat to be successful? What obstacles are preventing YOU from losing weight? Getting answers can shut down these buzzing questions for good! What about all those little questions that pop up: how much water should I be drinking? How will I be successful at this weekend’s festivities? How do I manage to stay on track during vacation? And the list goes on. A credible coach can help address answers that you will have that a meal plan cannot necessarily answer. This makes your journey much more enjoyable all while you're learning about yourself and what works best for you so that you're confident going into any future situation with complete control.
Feel stuck? Like you're not making any progress? Maybe you had a week where your scale didn't budge but you did everything right. Reassurance can go a long way: reassurance you are making the right choices and moving in the right direction, reassurance that you are in the process of making great improvements, reassurance that emotions you go through are normal and expected. Without reassurance, sometimes the smallest worry can be detrimental to one’s success.
Definitely a benefit! You’re in it to get results! The relationship and communication level you have with your coach is vital to your success. This is the only way he or she can gather feedback to better help you so make sure you give insight and feedback when prompted, even if it’s a concern or frustration! That’s data! Also, to get the results you want you need to be prepared to put in some footwork. You’ll get a lot of help from a coach, but the coach also needs your effort. Would a basketball coach bring a team success if the team didn’t practice? Nope! So be ready to put in a few practice sessions and be ready to learn from mistakes! I didn't say it would be easy, but it's always worth it.
When it comes to weight loss, gain, or any body recomposition, it involves so much more than simply understanding calories and macros. It is a daily tug of war between our many responsibilities and our wants to intertwine healthy eating a long with it. “Losing weight and changing eating habits is easy” said no one ever. A nutrition coach can help break it down into easier more manageable steps and solutions for you, ensuring you make these changes permanent. After all, who wants to diet the rest of their life? Nope.
